Weekly photo challenge ~ Summer

The weekly photo challenge is on the topic of Summer (as stated below).  I live in Australia and the Summer Season has well and truly ended with the sharp reality of some cold windy autumn nights.  In fact we are on the cusp of Winter.  This last week is has been raining ..  and raining  ..  and raining.  Plus the wind has been a bit wild at times.   Some places have had more rain than they need.  Kinda weird, when not that long ago we were struggling with drought in many areas.

Summer. Where you live, summer might be arriving soon, or (if you’re in the southern hemisphere), a fleeting memory. But what signifies summer to you? For me, it’s this picture, taken a few weeks ago in Rome, of me wearing shorts and shoes with no socks on the cobbled streets of Rome. When I’m able to dress like this for more than a week, I know that summer’s really here.  Check out Sara’s  Rome picture here (dailypost at wordpress).

Summer for me is about colourful flowers in the garden and sharing evening meals outside in the warm evening sun with a couple of candles for atmosphere, and no need for a ‘fat’ coat. (ie. very large, warm, well padded winter coat).  Even when raining the day seems softer.

Summer is seagulls, sunshine and sandals!

Whereas, winter is warm wood fires and the lights on low!!

About holistic complications

I like to work on a personal goal or challenge each year .. learning and growing, facing my fears, embracing love and challenges and stepping forward to create a more holistic and authentic life, living with good intentions - a clear, focused and 'real' life! I want to be more accountable for the life I live and create! My experience of being real and authentic are quite complicated at times!! I blog to share my experiences and ideas and to reflect on what inspires me!

Yes we are lucky in Aus, especially Queensland, it never gets Telly cold along the coast and we do have fantastic summers 🙂

  4. Not sure if it is because we have grown up here, but I love the four seasons. I’m glad when each one arrives and equally glad when each one ends. At the moment I’m loving the wood fires and lights on low 🙂 Enjoy reading your blog!

  6. I have always loved seagulls…I live away form the ocean and have always been surprised that we still have them.
